Du Sheng-Ruei, also known as Ray Du (阿滴), co-founded the Ray Du English(阿滴英文) YouTube channel with his sister, Crown (滴妹) in 2015. He was a radio program host and later worked as an English teacher through online learning platforms. In 2016 Ray Du left his job to become a full-time YouTuber, serving as a YouTube Ambassador that same year.

In 2017 Ray Du English became the first knowledge-based channel in Taiwan to reach 1 million subscribers, and by 2019, it had achieved 2 million subscribers. At its record high, the channel had 2.77 million subscribers.

Ray Du is widely recognized for his support of the Taiwanese content creator community and is often referred to as an elder of the YouTube community and as “the underground chairman of the YouTube world.”

In 2021 Ray Du founded the Taiwan New Media Audiovisual Creators Association and assumed the role of chairman, transitioning from the Underground Chairman to the official chairman. He has united Taiwanese content creators and organised over 100 gatherings to facilitate mutual collaboration and foster a positive and cooperative culture among Taiwanese YouTubers.
