Graphic Designer, Qing Yang Xiao Studio
Qing Yang Xiao is the acclaimed designer behind some of the most memorable visual arts in Taiwan’s music scene. A five-time Grammy nominee for Best Recording Package, Xiao has designed more than 1,000 album packages since 1986. His latest nomination was in 2019 for The Offering by rock band The Chairman. Xiao has also created book covers, product design, and installation art, as well as campaign song covers for political figures.
Born in New Taipei City in 1966, Xiao began exploring the connection between artists and their album covers at a young age. He creates covers that are tailored to each artist by internalizing the music and sharing that same story through design. He frequently travels the world to attend concerts, festivals, and exhibitions for inspiration. Xiao is currently the music director of the Ministry of Culture’s Taiwan Comic Base. He has also served as a judge for the Grammy Awards, the Independent Music Awards, and Japan’s Unknown Asia.
