Professor Dr Yeong Chai Hong is a medical physicist and cancer-treatment researcher whose work is advancing more accessible precision oncology in Southeast Asia. A Professor at Taylor’s University, she leads research in theranostics, radiopharmaceutical technology, medical imaging and cancer therapy, with a focus on developing affordable, locally relevant solutions for personalised cancer care. Her innovations, including the REST platform and biodegradable Holmium-166 rods, have gained international recognition for their potential to improve access to targeted treatment. The first Malaysian and Southeast Asian recipient of the IUPAP Young Scientist Award in Medical Physics, she also plays a leading role in strengthening healthcare and medical physics capacity across the region.
