Born into a family of entertainment moguls, Piyarat Kaljareuk is making his own name in the industry as a fierce TV persona and LGBT icon, often in make-up and wigs, and always impeccably dressed. He has captivated Thai TV audiences with groundbreaking shows like The Face Thailand and Drag Race Thailand, the world’s first adaptation of American RuPaul’s Drag Race. Piyarat believes content providers should cover a variety of different topics to encourage communication, community and engagement. Kantana’s current modeling sensation, The Face Thailand All Stars, has just shown its final runway. Currently, he is working on projects such as The Real Housewives of Thailand, the second seasons of The Face Men and Drag Race Thailand, and his international project, Entertainment Tonight Thailand. As a LGBT advocate, he has spoken candidly about several issues like gender, bullying, and overcoming depression. He credits his father for being so understanding throughout his journey. With Thailand’s increased tolerance and promotion as an LGBT-friendly destination, he hopes that queer people will not only come for holidays, but also come to get married and start families.
