Vice Chairwoman of Vingroup
A low-profile leader, co-founder of Vinpearl and Vincom, holding a billion-dollar fortune from VIC shares, and leading Vingroup's strategic projects and philanthropic activities
Ms. Pham Thu Huong was born on June 14, 1969, in Hanoi, and graduated with a Master's degree in International Law from Kyiv State University (Ukraine). In 1987, she met Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong, and together they borrowed $10,000 to open the Mivina noodle factory in Kharkiv. In 2003, they sold Technocom to Nestlé for $150 million to return to Vietnam and start a business. During the 2000-2002 period, she co-founded Vinpearl and Vincom. Since November 15, 2011, she has officially served as the Vice Chairwoman of Vingroup. From 2014-2015, she held the position of Chairwoman of Vincom Retail, leading the company to a successful IPO. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of GSM, co-founder of the VinFuture Foundation, and Chairwoman of Vin New Horizon – a 5-star elderly care system with a capital of 1,000 billion VND.
She owns over 1.2 billion USD in VIC shares (170.61 million shares, 4.46% of capital), valued at 30,112 billion VND as of November 5, 2025. Although her assets increased by 23,000 billion VND in 10 months thanks to VIC reaching a peak of 176,000 VND/share, she maintains a private life, has no social media presence, and makes few public appearances. In 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, Vingroup, led by her and Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong, contributed hundreds of billions of VND to the government's COVID-19 prevention fund, while also producing ventilators and medical equipment to support the Vietnamese Ministry of Health.
