The senior banker is a decorated businessman and has led DBS to greater heights

Peter Seah has held the role of chairman of DBS Group Holdings and DBS Bank since May 2010, having joined the financial institution’s board of directors about five months prior. The industry veteran is also the chairman of various committees within DBS, as well as the chairman of DBS Bank Hong Kong. Seah was a banker for 33 years before retiring as vice chairman and CEO of the former Overseas Union Bank in 2001.

At the National Day awards in 2021, Seah was awarded the Order of Nila Utama (With Distinction), one of Singapore's top national honours, for taking Singapore's healthcare, finance, aviation, tripartism and education to greater heights.

With Seah at the helm, DBS clinched the gold prize in the “Best Managed Board” category at the Singapore Corporate Awards in 2017. The bank also bagged the gold award for Best Annual Report. These laurels meant that DBS was the first Singapore company to win in all five categories (Best Managed Board, Best CEO, Best CFO, Best Investor Relations, and Best Annual Report) since the awards were launched in 2005.

Seah is also chairman of the National Wages Council, Singapore Airlines, and LaSalle College of the Arts. He occupies a position on the boards of STT Communications, Fullerton Financial Holdings, GIC and Asia Mobile Holdings, and is a member of the Council of Presidential Advisers.
