Paul Niel is an explorer, investor and technologist who focuses on impact investments and organising expeditions with a social or environmental purpose.

In 2013, the former financier became only the ninth person in the world to scale the summits of both Mount Everest and nearby Lhotse, the fourth highest peak in the world, within a 24-hour period. He’s also part of a select group of mountaineers to have completed the Seven Summits—climbing each continent’s tallest peak.

Seeking to solve humanity's grand challenges, Niel has given TED Talks, invested in innovative businesses in Europe and Asia, and is a sought-after speaker.

Driven by the desire for discovery, Niel describes himself as "omni-interested". Of his various passions, the Austrian native explains, "I engage in projects around exploration and new technologies, and try to combine the two when I can. My projects may look very disparate on the outside, but there’s a common line that runs through them all—the search for adventure."
