Paul Chong

President and Group CEO, Certis

The public service’s loss is the commercial world’s gain in the case of Paul Chong, President and Group CEO of Certis

As President and Group CEO, Paul Chong transformed Certis from a statutory board to a privatised entity. The integrated multi-disciplinary security provider with a global presence has grown more than fivefold and diversified into new businesses, including facilities management, concierge, and command-and-control systems for major properties. It has also become the industry’s third-largest player in the field in Australia. He joined the board of directors in 2018.

Prior to working first as founding CEO at Certis in 2004, Chong started a broadband/multimedia company. He was also SingTel’s vice-president for consumer sales, where he led Globe Telecom to become a leading mobile telecom operator in the Philippines and rolled out the world’s first nationwide broadband network in Singapore. He was head of joint communications and electronics at the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) as well.

Chong graduated with an honours degree in Economics and Operations Research from the University of Cambridge on a SAF Overseas Scholarship, and also from the US Army Command and General Staff College.
