Patty Tsai continues her family’s legacy with Wunjo Food

Patty Tsai is the creative director of Wunjo Food, which she founded in 2018 in Taiwan. Focused on providing healthy meals and drinks, Wunjo Food’s hero product, the Red Bean Essence, retains all the nutrients of red beans without any additives. Despite having been in the market for only three years, Tsai’s Wunjo Food continues to gain praise, with a promising repurchase rate of 60 per cent.

Tsai hails from a family with deep roots in the food industry. She is the daughter of Lu Fong Tsai and Jane Tsai, the founders of the Red Bean Dining Group, one of the biggest Shanghai restaurant chains in Taiwan. She moved to Canada at the age of 14, and after graduating from McGill University, transferred to the United States and earned her master’s degree in biology and medicine from Brown University.
