Tatler Asia

Led a Singapore-based luxury beauty empire through vision, innovation, and over three decades of brand partnerships

Patrick Chong is the founder and chairman of Luxasia, the Singapore-based luxury beauty powerhouse that has grown into one of Asia-Pacific’s most influential beauty distribution and retail groups. What began over 30 years ago as a regional fragrance and cosmetics distributor has since evolved into a sophisticated omnichannel beauty platform with a portfolio of more than 100 prestige brands.

Luxasia has long been the preferred partner in the region for leading global names, securing distributorships and joint ventures with renowned labels such as Calvin Klein, Hermès, and French luxury conglomerate LVMH. Under Chong’s visionary leadership, the company has expanded its reach to 11 markets across Asia-Pacific, with a strong presence in Southeast Asia, Greater China, and India.

In addition to its core distribution business, Luxasia also owns and operates Escentials, a premium beauty retail concept that curates niche and artisanal brands for discerning consumers. The group’s success lies in its ability to blend heritage with forward-thinking strategies, particularly in embracing digital transformation and omnichannel retail.

Luxasia was named one of Deloitte’s Best Managed Companies in Singapore for three consecutive years and in 2025, the company further solidified its industry leadership by winning three major honours at the Retail Asia Awards: Brand Store of the Year – Malaysia, Luxury Beauty Retailer of the Year – Singapore, and Luxury Beauty Retailer of the Year – Indonesia.

Chong’s entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to elevating the luxury beauty landscape in Asia have made him a respected figure in the region’s business community. His work continues to shape how global beauty brands connect with fast-evolving consumer markets across Asia.
