Patricia Ho

Patricia Ho is not only the founder of Hong Kong Dignity Institute (HKDI), which provides assistance through an all-woman team of professionals to Hong Kong’s most vulnerable, including victims of exploitation, abuse and discrimination, the majority of whom are women and children, but she is a great empowerer of her people. Staff from HKDI have gone on to senior leadership positions at UNHCR in Hong Kong and the UN, while partners at the law firm she also runs, Patricia Ho & Associates, have become trailblazers in practice areas around gender and sexual violence, equality and non-discrimination. Ho is also a role model to students at the Faculty of Law at the University of Hong Kong, where she is principal lecturer, inspiring many to use their skills for good. Ho herself has brought precedent-setting legal cases to the courts, including a landmark judgement that was handed down defining the duty of Hong Kong authorities to protect and investigate against trafficking of Foreign Domestic Workers for the purpose of exploitation. Ho has also been a constant champion for the LGBTQ+ community in Hong Kong.
