About US$125 million is spent every year in Thailand on funeral wreaths that are then just thrown away. With this in mind, Parith Rungsimanond co-founded Carenation, a social enterprise offering funeral wreaths made of recycled and sustainable paper, which are assembled by elderly and impoverished members of communities. Part of the proceeds are donated to charities and hospitals, amounting to about US$85,000 so far.
