Chairman and CEO of Destileria Limtuaco, Olivia Limpe-Aw, dominates the world of rum and spirits in the Philippines

What she did to make life easier during the pandemic continues to earn recognition for Olivia Limpe-Aw, president and CEO of Destileria Limtuaco. Her first came from Forbes who named her one of Asia’s Power Businesswomen for 2020, a shortlist of 25 across the region and only two Filipinas. She also received another major recognition for her help in the pandemic response from the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA). Most recently, the Outstanding Filipino Luminary Award that honours frontliners, civic leaders, innovators and movers who have inspired the country in this global difficulty.

Her first initiative that drew local and international attention involved the production of disinfectant alcohol. She is also the official distributor of a Chinese medicine that claim to help Covid patients and the emergency use authorisation holder of the Sputnik V vaccine from Russia.

With all her activities involving the pandemic, Limpe-Aw did not forget her family distillery empire of which she is now the fifth-generation head. The company just revealed the latest addition to the Destileria Limtuaco product list: the new size for Manille Liqueurs de Calamansi and Dalandan as well as the SI anti-bacterial liquid hand soap. “We also spent this past year-and-a-half strengthening our online platform,” she tells Tatler.
