Artist

The daughter of former President of Manila’s European Chamber of Commerce, great-grandaughter of the first mayor of Polo (now Valenzuela City), and descendant of French nobility, unsurprisingly has a strong sense of nationality. The artist is also inspired by nature, specifically, the ocean and the creatures that she grew up with. The honors student from Duperre Textile Design School (Paris), states that her predisposition to tactile art led her to textile design, and resulted in her sculpting with textiles. She has also trained with legendary Kenneth Cobonque and HIVE. Now, she busies her existence with textile and jewellery design, installations, and curating art for the Malasimbo Music & Arts Festival. Olivia is most well known for working with recycled material, and her famous art installation, 90 Giant Dandelions, glowing dandelions made out of PET bottles, has toured Europe (Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Portugal, UK) and Israel. Additionally, she set up the D’Aboville Foundation in 2004 to work with the indigenous Mangyans, environment, and eco-cultural tourism in the Island of Mindoro in the Philippines. In 2016, she became a mum to her firstborn, Leo!
