Noreen Bautista hails from Iloilo, the textile capital of the Philippines, and her desire to promote locally produced materials around the world in a sustainable way that respects the local culture prompted her to launch Panublix. The sourcing platform takes textiles made from materials such as pineapple, banana and cotton, and connects their artisanal makers with designers and other potential customers.
