Stand-up comedian and YouTuber
A stand-up comedian based in London, best known for his famous alter ego, Uncle Roger
Born in Kuala Lumpur, Nigel Ng began his stand-up comedy while studying engineering (and minor in philosophy) at Northwestern University in Illinois. Later relocating to the UK, he worked as a data scientist before dedicating himself fully to the stage beginning in 2019.
The year 2020 marked the moment Nigel’s global breakthrough: his portrayal of Uncle Roger—an Asian food-critic persona delivering satirical commentary on cooking videos—went viral. His critique of an egg-fried-rice tutorial by BBC Food captured the attention of millions and earned praise even from renowned chefs.
Ng is now one of the few Malaysian entertainers with widespread global influence. In 2024 he opened Fuiyoh! It’s Uncle Roger, his first restaurant in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur—centred around fried rice. He is also in advanced development of a new animated series based on Uncle Roger, in collaboration with AI animation studio Toonstar and talent agency WME.
In September 2025 he married US-based lawyer Sabrina Ahmed in a three-day celebration in Sintra, Portugal, that took from Malaysian-Chinese and Bengali traditions.
