Nie Ruohan founded her eponymous label in 2020 after winning the China Institute Fashion Design competition that year. Based in New York, she is a committed advocate of sustainable fashion who works to reduce waste by using sustainable cutting and by producing her own fabric. Her first runway collection debuted at the 2022 Shanghai Fashion Week to wide acclaim. She was a recipient of the Lane Crawford and Labelhood special fund in 2021 and the Yu Prize Creative Impact Award in 2022.
