Outstanding Vietnamese disabled athlete, specializing in athletics (javelin throw, shot put), part of the Ho Chi Minh City team

Possessing innate athletic talent, Nguyen Thi Hai was called up to the national team after only one year of training and competed at the 3rd ASEAN Para Games in 2005 in the Philippines. In nearly two decades of competition, she has continuously brought home many international medals, notably three gold medals at the 12th ASEAN Para Games in 2023 in shot put and javelin throw events. Her achievements significantly contributed to the Vietnamese sports delegation's leading position in the regional arena.

Hai represented Vietnam at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics alongside teammates like Cao Ngoc Hung. As one of the exemplary faces of Ho Chi Minh City's para-sports, she received significant rewards from the city and has become a symbol of determination and the will to rise in Vietnamese sports.
