Vietnam's pioneering professional golfer, formerly a national champion karate athlete before switching to golf and helping lay the foundation for the professional golf movement in the country.

Nguyen Thai Duong was born in 1986 and started playing golf at the age of 15 (around 2001). After 7 years of amateur competition, he achieved many notable accomplishments, such as winning the 2005 Southeast Asian Youth Golf Championship in Malaysia, the 2007 Australian Youth Golf Championship, and the National Golf Championship. He turned professional in 2009, becoming one of the pioneering faces of the Vietnamese golf scene.

Duong is considered a "phenomenon" with a rare passion and perseverance. He has participated in many international tournaments and contributed to the development of the VPGA Tour – Vietnam's first professional tournament system. Concurrently, he actively shares his experience, nurtures plans to train the younger generation, and elevate Vietnamese golf. He was notably mentioned during major events like the Ho Tram Open in 2015.
