Nguyen Minh Khanh

Nguyen Minh Khanh’s journey to becoming a leading whisky expert is anything but conventional. Trained in classical vocal music at the Vietnam National Academy of Music, he initially pursued a career in television and event production, playing a key role in major music festivals such as Escape Music Festival and The Wave Music Festival.

However, it was his deep-seated passion for whisky that ultimately defined his career. Over the past eight years, Khanh has immersed himself in the world of fine spirits, developing an encyclopaedic knowledge that has earned him widespread recognition. More than just an aficionado, he is a dedicated educator, sharing his expertise and enthusiasm with a growing community of whisky connoisseurs.

In 2017, Khanh and his partner, Dr Huynh Dinh Bao Phuong, founded PK Maltroom, now regarded as Vietnam’s first and largest whisky bar. Housing an extensive collection of rare and exceptional bottles, PK Maltroom has become a haven for serious collectors and enthusiasts alike. Beyond running the establishment, Khanh is a regular presence at whisky events and a sought-after commentator in the media, playing a pivotal role in elevating Vietnam’s whisky culture.
