A graduate of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, he went on to complete two master’s degrees—one in computer science at the University at Buffalo, New York, and another in business administration at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. With nearly 25 years of experience in technology and finance, he has long been at the forefront of digital innovation.

In 2010, he co-founded MoMo with a vision of advancing financial inclusion in Vietnam. By harnessing technology to deliver accessible, low-cost payment solutions and financial services, he has helped reshape the country’s fintech landscape. Tuong firmly believes in the power of innovation to improve lives, and this principle has remained central to MoMo’s growth.

Under his leadership, MoMo has transformed the way Vietnamese users interact with digital payments, forging strategic partnerships with global giants such as Google, Apple, and TikTok to drive user engagement. The platform has also played a pivotal role in fostering collaboration between fintech companies, banks, and corporate partners.

In recognition of his contributions, The Asian Banker awarded Tuong the Innovation Leadership Achievement Award 2023 for his visionary leadership and groundbreaking work in Vietnam’s fintech sector.
