Managing partner, WongPartnership
Ng Wai King is the managing partner of WongPartnership, specialising in private equity and telecommunications, as well as mergers and acquisitions. He has worked on a number of high-profile cases for top clients in his three decades as a lawyer.
In 2018, Ng led the team advising Nesta Investment Holdings’ SG$16 billion acquisition and privatisation of Global Logistics Properties. That same year, he was also Singapore counsel to US retail giant Walmart in its acquisition of a 77 per cent stake in Flipkart; the deal clinched Deal of the Year—Best M&A Deal and Best India Deal at the FinanceAsia Awards 2018. Ng has also advised and represented CapitaLand in its SG$11 billion acquisition of the Ascendas–Singbridge group of companies, and TCC Assets and Thai Beverage Public Company on a successful takeover offer for Fraser & Neave.
He graduated from the National University of Singapore where he was awarded the SG$10,000 Justice AV Winslow Prize, and obtained his Master of Laws degree from Columbia University School of Law, New York, from which he graduated as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.
Ng also sits on the National University of Singapore’s board of trustees.

Did You Know?
Harlan Fiske Stone was a turn-of-the-century United States Supreme Court justice. He was offered a teaching position at Columbia Law School not long after he graduated from Amherst College, accepting the offer and running a private practice simultaneously. Columbia Law School established the Harlan Fiske Stone scholarship in 1946, the year of his death.
