Ng Wai Hoe

Neurosurgeon Ng Wai Hoe has been with SingHealth for almost two decades. As a newly qualified neurosurgeon, he entered the National Neuroscience Institute as an associate consultant in 2004, becoming medical director in 2015 for almost six years.

He was appointed group chief executive officer of SingHealth in February of this year. Since then, Ng and SingHealth have made significant strides in the healthcare sector, with a focus on integrating healthcare services across Singapore has resulted in improved patient outcomes and operational efficiencies. In recent years, he has championed digital health initiatives that leverage technology to enhance patient care experiences. His leadership during health crises has been marked by a commitment to innovation and community health engagement.

Prior to this appointment, Ng was chief executive officer of Changi General Hospital, where he earned the ‘Most People-Focused CEO’ at the Human Resources Excellence Awards 2023 in recognition of his commitment to the healthcare sector.

He accelerates research by spearheading international collaborations via the Singapore Eye Research Institute to enhance global patient care and outcomes and also champions fusing innovative technology with the human touch for better patient outcomes.
