Ng Gim Choo

Founder, chairwoman and group managing director, EtonHouse International Education Group

EtonHouse's founder and chair grew the business into an international education group

Pioneer of a child-centred educational philosophy in Singapore, Ng Gim Choo set up EtonHouse in 1995, motivated by her daughter's preschool experiences in London where children learned through play, exploration and mutual child-teacher respect. From the first campus on Broadrick Road, EtonHouse now has 17 schools in Singapore and more than 30 in China. In total, EtonHouse has 120 campuses throughout 11 countries. Beyond preschool, it has also expanded to offer primary, secondary and high-school education.

Ng has received numerous accolades including 2019's Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in the education category. A former auditor, Ng contributes philanthropic efforts through the EtonHouse Community Fund, an independent IPC charity which works with young people from underprivileged families.

Ng Gim Choo has three children. Her younger son, Ng Yi-Xian, is the group chief executive officer of the company, and runs EtonHouse in Singapore and China.
