President, PS The Children
Nariza Hashim is an activist protecting, saving and giving a voice to children with her NGO, PS The Children
Datin Che Nariza Hashim is the president of PS The Children, the only NGO in Malaysia solely focused on the prevention and treatment of cases of child sexual abuse. An organisation that began in 1999 as a project to represent children who have been sexually abused, gradually it grew into a fully fledged non-profit.
Since then, it has been dedicated to creating national awareness about child sexual abuse, importantly educating children on the subject and equipping them with skills for self-protection, and providing intervention, support and treatment to survivors and families, as well as engaging in advocacy work.
Passionate about the cause even though it is one of the most difficult subjects to open a dialogue about, Nariza—a former journalist and a mother of five—went from being a patron of PS The Children to helming the NGO as the president.
