Chairman and Co-Founder, Ikhlas Capital
Tan Sri Nazir Razak, one of Malaysia’s top executives, is responsible for CIMB Group’s meteoric rise during his illustrious career. Under his leadership, Nazir transformed CIMB from a local investment bank into the fifth largest universal bank in ASEAN by assets and a world leader in Islamic finance.
A passionate advocate of ASEAN economic integration, he is now the chairman of Ikhlas Capital, a private equity fund manager dedicated to partnering and growing companies that positively impact the development of the ASEAN region. In 2021, he was appointed non-executive chairman of Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (BPMB) and PLS Plantations.
The youngest son of Malaysia’s second prime minister Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, Nazir recently released his memoir What’s in a Name, which recounted his experiences of growing up in one of the country’s most prominent political families.
