Natalie Prabha

Tatler Asia

Think of the term ‘off-duty model’, and the mental image you’ll conjure up in your mind will look a lot like Natalie Prabha, relaxing backstage at our Asia’s Most Stylish photo shoot.

Effortless, at-ease and exuding a natural sense of self that goes beyond mere clothes. After years of modelling, Prabha knows what she likes and what she feels comfortable in—which is how she’s come to be the chicest boho girl on the streets of KL.

Not that she’s a city girl at heart, as evidenced by her laidback looks: low-slung jeans, strappy tops and barely there sandals are staples for her, even though she’s left the Bali life behind (for now.) And of course, there’s always a piece of Sabah about her person. “Anything from my hometown, I'm always there to support,” she says. “I always wear my jewellery from Sabah, anything that represents the culture, that’s the number one thing I shop. Other than that, I always buy pieces that I can restyle or change. When I do purchase something, it has to be intentional.”

And that style is not just effortless—it’s also inherited. “Whenever I go back to KK to visit my parents and I have nothing to wear, I just go through my mum’s closet,” Prabha laughs. “She loves clothes, she has really cool pieces from her younger days and I’m so happy she held on to them, because when I put them on, they look amazing.”

Anything from my hometown, I'm always there to support.
