Naina Subberwal Batra of AVPN is a driver of change for the public good

As CEO of AVPN, Naina Subberwal Batra leads Asia’s largest network of social investors dedicated to mobilising financial, human, and intellectual capital for impact. Since taking the helm in 2013, she has transformed AVPN from a small venture philanthropy initiative into a powerful regional ecosystem that unites catalytic philanthropists, impact investors, and corporate CSR professionals behind a shared mission of social progress.

Under her leadership, AVPN’s membership has expanded more than fourfold, evolving into a truly pan-Asian platform for collaboration and systems change. Today, the network connects hundreds of funders and resource providers across the region, fostering innovative models of giving and investing that address pressing challenges in areas such as education, livelihoods, gender equality, and climate resilience.

Beyond AVPN, Batra serves on the boards of the Micronutrient Forum, Blue Earth Foundation, Menzies Foundation, and Blue Planet Environmental Solutions Pte Ltd, extending her influence across global health, sustainability, and environmental sectors.

A recognised thought leader in impact and inclusive development, she was a Fellow at the Bellagio Center Residency Program in 2022 and named one of Asia’s Top Sustainability Superwomen by CSRWorks in 2019.

Through her work, Batra continues to redefine what collective action can achieve—championing a vision of Asian philanthropy and investment that is strategic, collaborative, and deeply human.
