The artist is known by the nickname “Brown-Haired Nightingale”, and is one of the most influential singers in the Vietnamese pop music scene.

Although born into a family with no artistic tradition, My Tam soon revealed her talent and achieved many successes since her teenage years, notably winning the Golden Voice Award of Muc Tim newspaper in 1998. After that, she moved to Ho Chi Minh City, studied Vocal Music at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music and graduated as valedictorian in 2001.

Her professional career flourished with her debut album Mai Yeu (2001) and her third album Yesterday & Now (2003) – a product that set a record for sales in the domestic market at that time. My Tam affirmed her position with a diverse musical style, from deep Pop Ballad, modern R&B to vibrant Dance, with a powerful, emotional Mezzo-Soprano voice.

Throughout her career, My Tam has won numerous prestigious domestic and international awards, including a record 11 consecutive times winning the “Most Favorite Singer” award at Lan Song Xanh; 6 Dedication awards; the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) for “Best Asian Artist” in 2012 and the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA). In addition to her success in music, My Tam has also expanded her activities into the film industry as an actress and director (in the film Chi Tro Ly Cua Anh ). She also organizes charity activities through the MT Foundation, building the image of a talented artist, working seriously and always using quality products to conquer the audience.
