While most business owners pulled back during the time of pandemic, Xendit’s Co-Founder and CEO Moses Lo went the other way, and decided to expand in the Philippines. The success of his entry fuelled his intention to grow his business-payments company even further, calling for another round of funds that catapulted Xendit to its newfound status as a unicorn.

For Lo’s next stop, he has his eyes on Vietnam, which has a similar commercial environment to that of Indonesia and the Philippines. Like any other new venture, there are challenges ahead especially in a time of global crisis, but Lo remains unphased. He simply falls back on the words of his idol, the US internet entrepreneur and investor Justin Kan: “Just be a cockroach… survive no matter what.”
