MJ is a bit of a bundle of contradictions. Known by many for his stint on the talent show Singapore Idol, he dropped out of the programme after making it into the Top 13 in order to continue his studies at Stanford University. Since graduating, MJ has become a DJ and solo artist performing under the name MMXJ, a combination of his and his two brothers’ initials, in a journey that could be seen as rather unconventional, considering he is the grandson and heir of Malaysia’s richest man, Robert Kuok.
