Ming Xian Ho

Founder, CMP Group

After mastering metals, Ming Xian Ho, founder of the CMP Group, expands into hospitality, retail, and more

Armed with diligence, integrity, and a modest capital of NT$1 million, self-made businessman Ming Xian Ho founded the CMP Group in 1972 and spun it into one of the biggest independent casting foundries in Asia, with sites in Hsinchu and Yangmei in Taiwan and Tianjin, Suzhou, and Xiaogan in Mainland China.

The industrialist then set his sights beyond the mastery of metals, turning the CMP Group into a holding company with a diversified business portfolio. Apart from metal manufacturing, the conglomerate is now engaged in land development, retail (Park Lane by CMP, Park Lane by Splendor), and hospitality (Hotel National, Splendor Hotel Taichung).

Rounding out Ho’s endeavours is the CMP PUJEN Foundation for Arts and Culture, which highlights local culture with projects such as the CMP Block Museum of Arts and the Kong-Ke Museum, among others.
