Founder and creative director, Ms MIN
Min Liu is one of the most popular independent fashion designers in China. The Xiamen-based designer’s distribution channels include an official website, online shops and 19 physical stores in China as well as 15 worldwide. Known for combining modernity with tradition, innovation with classicism, simplicity with sophistication, Liu’s original aesthetic reflects her DNA as a Chinese designer while attracting fashion lovers all over the world.
After graduating from the London College of Fashion in 2007, Liu first took a year-long internship at Viktor & Rolf, then served as assistant designer for Ports before launching her own label, Ms MIN, in 2010. The brand made its online debut with Taobao in 2011, catching the attention of Lane Crawford’s Fashion Director Sarah Rutson. Rutson mentored Liu personally, helping the designer to launch Ms MIN at the Lane Crawford department stores in 2013. The incredible journey continued with an invitation to the Met Gala in 2014, as the prestigious event boosted the brand's international visibility and contributed to its launch in North America. Liu was shortlisted for the semi-finals of the coveted LVMH Prize in 2015.
