Hailing from the province of Bukidnon, Senator Miguel “Migz” Zubiri has been in public service for more than 20 years. Over his long political career, he has earned a reputation for his support of farmers, social housing, environmental conservation and economic development. As the Senate Majority Leader of the last two Congresses, the economic measures he passed have kept the country on an upward trajectory.

The Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) that he authored and sponsored was crucial in paving the way for creating the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, a development that puts the conflict-ridden region on the path toward enduring and genuine peace.

Re-elected to the Senate in they May 2022 national elections, Zubiri subsequently took the Senate presidency two months later. Zubiri continues work on laws that will help affected industries back on their feet, prioritising micro, small and medium enterprises, as well as the tourism sector. the senator says he is also focused on solutions to strengthen the country's economic fundamentals, to better protect the Filipino people from the negative impacts of the global market.
