Miguel Tabuena

Golfer , Asian Tour

Already building a decorated career in golf, Miguel Tabuena gallantly swings his way to global recognition

At only 27 years old, Filipino golfer Miguel Tabuena has become a sensation in Philippine sports through his blistering performances over the years, having won multiple Philippine Golf Tours in his career, and being named Sportsman of the Year in 2016 by the Philippine Sports Association.

To the avid fan, however, these accolades are to be expected—Tabuena has been a professional golfer for ten years and has been racking up awards before that as an amateur since he was a teenager. His continuing rise has slowly crept up the global stage—beginning with his victories in two Asian Tours and his qualification in the 2016 Rio De Janeiro Olympics.

In September 2021, Tabuena secured his first victory on United States soil, claiming the Idaho Open by defeating US representative Brad Marek. Tabuena’s first victory is a sign of many more things to come, with bigger goals ahead. “In the long run (but hopefully not too long) of course, the dream is to be playing on the PGA Tour,” he says.
