Miao Shiming graduated from Central Academy of Fine Arts, and went on to initiate public welfare project “WABC” in 2010, which linked, via education, contemporary art with a vulnerable group of people with mental and intellectual disabilities. Today, WABC has offered art therapy courses to people with mental and intellectual disabilities in more than 40 communities, schools and hospitals across 10 cities in China. In August 2017, the large-scale online and offline interactive public welfare activity Little Kids’ Gallery, co-launched by WABC and Tencent Charity, featured on WeChat Moment and raised RMB11 million in just one day with more than 6.8 million donors, which aroused widespread public concern for autism and other special needs groups.
