While Oxford-educated Maudy Ayunda has built an illustrious career in the entertainment industry as a singer-songwriter and actress, her work in activism puts the social-conscience icing on her success. She has played leading roles in more than ten movies, including Riri Riza’s Untuk Rena (Dear Rena) (2005), for which she won Best Female Leading Role at the Jakarta Film Festival. She has also released three music albums.

With all eyes on Maudy, however, she has re-directed public attention to literacy and youth issues. She is also passionate about campaigning to fight modern slavery. Since 2017, she was appointed as a spokesperson against modern slavery for Global Freedom Network.

Though discouraged to do so, Maudy insisted on going to the UK’s University of Oxford, graduating in 2016 with a degree in politics, philosophy, and economics. She followed this by going to Stanford University in the United States to work toward a master's degree in business and education. Maudy also founded the non-profit organisation Inspira, a platform to support career development and mentorship for young Indonesians.

Additionally, Maudy Ayunda displays great style in every activity she is involved in, whether she's in simple yet structured pieces or ethnic dress that represents Indonesia's traditional patterns. For her modest, elegant fashion sense, she has been named to the 2022 Asia's Most Stylish list.
