The Philippines isn’t a country that appreciates the racetrack; where’s the challenge when you’re not dealing with traffic, right? Still, in the world of motorsports, when you start by karting in Cavite, to competing in Monaco, it makes for quite a story. That was the reality for the young Swiss-Filipino driver, Marlon Stockinger. After successful races in the Formula BMW Pacific and Formula BMW Europe series, including a win at Formula Renault (2010), he made the ranks at the GP3 Status Grand Prix in Monaco (2013). This paved the way to his admission into the Lotus F1 Junior Team, a prestigious driver development program under which he made his rounds in Formula Renault 3.5, before returning to the competitive G2 Status Grand Prix. Most recently campaigning at the 2016 Blancpain GT Series, Marlon is racing to make his F1 dreams come true. He was the racing coach of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, and is now her boyfriend.
