Mark Dalio is bringing the ocean's mysteries to global audiences through groundbreaking exploration and cinematic storytelling

Mark Dalio is redefining how the world engages with the ocean through his work at OceanX, a non-profit organisation at the intersection of marine science, exploration, education and cinematic storytelling.

At OceanX, Dalio oversees strategic vision and organisational growth while spearheading educational initiatives and regional expansion across Asia. His leadership has positioned the organisation as an industry leader in oceanic research and filmmaking, inspiring a new generation of ocean conservationists through compelling visual narratives.

In 2013, Dalio launched Alucia Productions, now integrated into OceanX, to bring the mysteries of the deep sea to global audiences through vivid cinematography.

As a director, producer and storyteller, he has partnered with leading production companies to create stunning ocean media. His credits include the BBC-OceanX giant screen film Oceans: Our Blue Planet and David Attenborough’s Great Barrier Reef. Dalio also served as executive producer on OceanXplorers, a documentary series that debuted on National Geographic in 2024. The series showcases cutting-edge marine science and exploration, making the ocean's wonders accessible to viewers worldwide.

Through strategic partnerships and innovative media, Dalio ensures that new opportunities align with OceanX’s mission: to explore the ocean and bring it back to the world.

Life is sustained by the ocean. Every second breath you get is because of the ocean
