After the 2013 Rana Plaza disaster, Marianne Hughes travelled across Asia investigating where her clothes came from, even ending up working at a garment factory in China. The result is Kno, a platform that promises to make fashion supply chains transparent. It allows workers to log conditions at factories where they work, but also works with brands such as Target and Marks and Spencer, who use it for risk management.
