A lawyer by training, Malek Ali is renowned for establishing BFM, Malaysia’s pioneering business radio station. Prior to venturing into media, he was involved in classifieds with KLClassifieds, later transitioning to roles at Jobstreet and Yahoo. He founded the radio station in 2008, aiming to diversify the country’s airwaves, starting with a small team of four. Since then, it has expanded significantly, evolving into a prominent digital media company marking its 15th year in 2023.

Recognised for his entrepreneurial drive and ability to overcome adversity, Malek emphasises the significance of education in fostering economic and social progress. He aspires to unite a community dedicated to enhancing the economic and social well-being of fellow Malaysians, empowering them to take courageous steps to build a better nation.

Malek is dedicated to expanding the geographical coverage of BFM radio beyond Greater Kuala Lumpur and Caijin, BFM’s Chinese business radio digital station. Apart from BFM, Malek is the founder of Fi Life, the country’s first and largest online platform for term life insurance, which aims to assist its customers in attaining financial independence.
