A serial entrepreneur and industry disruptor who pioneers groundbreaking businesses, Malek Ali founded BFM Radio to bring diversity to the nation’s airwaves
Well known for disrupting the Malaysian airwaves with his game-changing independent radio station BFM in 2008, which remains the nation’s sole business radio station, Malek Ali has often been a key changemaker in the country.
More recently, Malek founded an insurtech startup Fi Life, the country’s first and largest online platform for term life insurance, which aims to help its customers achieve financial independence.
A lawyer turned entrepreneur, Malek’s entrepreneurial journey illustrates his knack for establishing first-of-their-kind businesses. Besides BFM and Fi Life, he also founded KL Classifieds, Malaysia’s first all-classifieds publication.
Before becoming a full-time entrepreneur, Malek worked at some of the biggest companies in the region, including JobStreet, Yahoo! and Maxis.
He also mentors high-impact entrepreneurs under Endeavor Malaysia.
