Restaurateur, entrepreneur, film producer, environmentalist and adventurer Malcolm Wood has been involved in a number of international films about pressing environmental issues, including A Plastic Ocean (2016) and Imax presents The Last Glaciers (2022), and is a board member of the foundation Plastic Oceans International, as well as sitting on the boards of environmental organisations including the Hong Kong Shark Foundation. A paraglider and speedflyer, he is a brand ambassador for high-end outdoor wear company Arc’teryx, and one of the people chosen by the United Nations Environment Programme to front its Mountain Heroes campaign.

Wood is also the co-founder and managing director of Hong Kong-based F&B group Maximal Concepts. The company is most famous for contemporary Chinese restaurant Mott 32, offering a Cantonese menu with guest appearances from other Chinese cuisines, which opened in Hong Kong in 2014, with other locations in cities including Bangkok, Singapore, Vancouver and Las Vegas, with Toronto and London coming soon; the company also operates bar and restaurant brands including John Anthony, Brick House, Limewood, Stockton, Sip Song and The Aubrey.

He has founded various other companies and organisations concerned with F&B, innovation and sustainability, including space launch vehicle technology company Aeonian Space, foundation and green fund Meru Projects, and omnichannel food app KIN Food Halls.
