Having studied art and graphic design in Paris, Maïa is now a recognised artist and the artistic director of Taverne Gutenburg in Lyon, France. This establishment is a special art centre that acts as a creative hub, hosting art residencies, galleries, exhibitions, art studios, and even houses a bar, too. Today, the Taverne Gutenberg network consists of 17,000 members and over 400 participating artists. Maïa is also the project director of Ugnayan sa Poblacion, which she organised with her artist husband. This is the recently-concluded eight-week art residency program in Poblacion, Makati, that welcomed four international artists from Taverne Gutenberg to collaborate with local talents. They also taught free workshops for their NGO partners during the residency. Maïa hopes to continue projects like Ugnayan sa Poblacion, and hold an art retreat in Puerto Galera.
