A steady hand at HSBC Hong Kong, Maggie Ng has a vital role in driving finance in Asia
Maggie Ng joined HSBC in 2020 as head of wealth and personal banking, Hong Kong, later being named head of retail banking and wealth. In October 2025, she took on the role of HSBC Hong Kong CEO, in addition to her existing duties. This promotion positions her as one of the most significant figures shaping the future of finance in Asia.
Ng has spent almost 30 years in the industry, having worked at Citibank for nearly 20 years, focusing on risk, then lending. In 2017, she co-founded Assured Asset Management, a highly regarded fintech wealth management and asset management company, before going on to serve as Greater China CEO at IG Group, a leading online trading provider.
Announcing her 2025 appointment, the bank said: “Since joining HSBC, Maggie has overseen significant growth in our largest retail banking and wealth management market,” adding that she “has a proven track record in delivering growth, improving customer advocacy, driving digital transformation and effectively managing risks”.
