M Ibnur Rashad B Zainal Abidin published a scientific paper and co-invented a laser interferometer—at age 16. Through his award-winning consultancy Ground-up Innovation Labs for Development (Guild), Ibnur unites nature, technology and community to create learning experiences. Guild’s latest projects include curating an invention bootcamp with the Singapore Science Centre for schools to design solutions for an elderly centre and family service centre, as well as developing riverbots to help marine researchers in Southeast Asia in their conservation work.
