Jewellery collector, actress and artist
The Collectors | Former child star and current philanthropist, painter and legendary socialite Lynn Hsieh is also a collector
The jewellery collector, actress and artist Lynn Hsieh brought her dazzling jewellery curation to her Asia’s Most Stylish photoshoot. “I don’t collect jewellery just for the purpose of wearing it—jewellery collecting is a form of culture and history that I’m also passionate about,” says Hsieh, who is a huge fan of Hong Kong jewellery artist and sculptor Wallace Chan, known for blending meticulous craftsmanship with innovative technology. Hsieh lent several pieces from her personal collection to his current exhibition at the Shanghai Museum East, the first time creations from a living artist have been exhibited there.
Hsieh is an artist in the broadest sense, practising calligraphy, traditional Chinese painting and oil painting as well as dancing, and finds that gathering beautiful pieces inspires her practice. “Collecting is a process, a form of self-inspiration, a self-affirmation in my life experiences, a pursuit and an emotional investment in beauty,” she says.
