Passionate futurist guiding Singapore’s youth in space, deep tech and robotics
Lynette Tan is a pioneering figure in Asia’s deep tech and space ecosystem, serving as CEO of Space Faculty, a Singapore-based organisation dedicated to building future talent and technologies. Through STEM education, industry partnerships, and international collaboration, she has championed the development of skills and leadership in sectors such as space, robotics, and artificial intelligence.
Space Faculty is the national organiser for global competitions like the World Robot Olympiad and the International Space Challenge, as well as the creator of Expand Space—Singapore’s premier annual space innovation platform that connects students, researchers, and companies from around the world. The organisation also works with governments and startups to foster research and commercialisation in the fast-growing space industry.
In a bold move to catalyse the next wave of regional innovation, Lynette is leading the launch of a Space Economy Fund in partnership with stakeholders from Thailand and the United Kingdom, aimed at supporting frontier technologies and ventures across borders. She advises several international deep tech companies including Myelin-H (UK) and Openstream.ai (USA), and serves on the boards of Synspective (Japan) and Tetrasoft (Singapore/USA), as well as the Industry Advisory Board of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Asia.
A strong advocate for STEM access and gender equity, Lynette was named a Singapore 100 Women in Tech Trailblazer in 2020 and received the Lancôme Visionary Award in 2018. In 2023, she received the Innovation Award at Tatler’s inaugural Front & Female Awards Singapore. She is also a Karman Fellow, recognised globally for her contributions to space advancement.
