Social Activist
Luong The Huy is the Director of the Institute for Social, Economic and Environmental Studies (iSEE), a non-profit organisation dedicated to advocating for the rights of minority groups
Huy began volunteering in 2008, supporting initiatives for Vietnam’s LGBT+ community. By 2011, he was actively engaged in projects at the ICS Centre, focusing on awareness-raising, communication, education, and health. Since 2013, his work has centred on research, policy advocacy, and capacity building. He has played a key role in policy dialogues, contributing to legislative reforms such as amendments to the Law on Marriage and Family and the Civil Code, as well as Vietnam’s participation in UN mechanisms.
A graduate of UCLA School of Law’s Master of Laws programme in Law and Sexuality, Huy has led iSEE in advancing social equity. He is currently involved in teaching, training, and implementing community initiatives on mental health.
