The main legal adviser to the Singapore government, Lucien Wong calls on his extensive experience in both private and public practice to serve as Attorney-General to the Ministry of Law

Attorney-General Lucien Wong has more than 40 years’ experience as a lawyer. He worked for a number of years in private practice after being called to the Singapore Bar in 1979, and made the move to the public service in 2016. Wong has sat on several law review committees that re-evaluated amendments to Singapore Company and Securities Law. 
 
Wong started his career as a legal assistant at Drew & Napier in 1980, and became a partner of the practice two years later. He moved on to become partner at Allen & Gledhill, and led the firm as chairman and senior partner from 1998-2012. He was named the ninth Attorney-General of Singapore in January 2017. 
 
Prior to his appointment as Attorney-General, Wong was chairman of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore. He was also a director of various companies including Singapore Airlines and Singapore Press Holdings, and a member of the board of trustees of the Singapore Business Federation.
