Loh Kean Yew

In December 2021, badminton player Loh Kean Yew made history when he emerged victorious during the men’s singles match at the 2021 BWF World Championships, including defeating reigning Olympic champion Viktor Axelson. An outsider who had previously been unranked, he became Singapore’s first world champion in the sport in the process. His highest world ranking is third.
